Aspen in Forest-finished!
I like this little format, it goes quickly, and I can sit with the palette and painting positioned so I don't have to stand at an easel. Pleased with the results, it accomplishes the feeling of being in the aspen forest in fall.
thanks Laura, great comment. The underpainting sets the stage for the final work, and its usually not very pretty, but important. My students in art appreciation class were always shocked by the first part of the master teacher's demos, but amazed at the finished vision. It's an interesting process, composition and design comes first. Like a cake and then the icing.
Have to be honest -- I couldn't see where the earlier post was going (work in progress). I'm obviously not an artist, nor do I paint at all.
ReplyDeleteBut this is beautiful!
